Historic Atkins Porter Neighborhood Association

The Historic Atkins-Porter Neighborhood Association is dedicated to preserving the history, integrity, safety and sense of community of the Atkins-Porter neighborhood. The group holds monthly meetings at the botanical garden, 311 Jackson St. on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm.

– Bring those little ones to the HAPNA Botanical Garden at 311 Jackson
Street at 10:30 A.M. for story hour with Kayla Nation of the W.G. Rhea Public Library.

– This neighborhood LOVES TREES, so bring the kiddos to the HAPNA
Botanical Garden at 10:30 A.M. on Thursdays in June for “Tree Talk” with TN National
Wildlife Refuge Ranger Joan Howe and friends. See blog for more information.

– Meet at the AP Rec Center/Dog Park on South Highland Street
for a morning of kayaking. More details soon on this monthly, Saturday event.
 
July 16
– Cool down with a little ice cream at our Ice Cream Social in the Garden.

October 29
– Grab your costumes for a Halloween Run/Walk to benefit your Historic
Atkins-Porter Neighborhood Association. More info soon!
 
November 5
– Fall Litter Pickup in the Neighborhood. You bring the gloves, we’ll have
the rest!

– New Year’s Day
– Join your friends and family at the botanical
garden and bask in the glow of thousands of Christmas lights!
 
December 10
– The GIFT OF LIGHT begins in the HAPNA neighborhood! Drive
through and try to decide who will win the coveted BPU trophies for HAPNA’s Annual
Lighting Contest. Judging happens tonight!
 
December 11
– Annual Holiday Lighting Contest awards present by our sponsor,
Board of Public Utilities!
